BIO
(E. Lee Conley)
I am currently serving in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. The National Guard allowed me to take an early discharge to tour with Ozzfest ‘98 as the "roadie" for the Rhode Island metal group KILGORE (SMUDGE), which then led to tours with Slayer and Fear Factory. In 1999, I became the bass tech and roadie for Brian Wheat (bassist of TESLA) with his second band, Soul Motor. In 2000, I joined the group POINT.08, after which I re-enlisted in the National Guard and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq to serve with BRAVO battery 1/103rd FA. During this time, I wrote the first metal album ever to be written while in a war-zone. Upon my return to RI in 2005, I reunited with my bassist, who formed the group 10`FOLD in my absence. We have played the Locobazooka festival, where we played before nearly 20,000 people and opened for Disturbed, Black Label Society, Ra, Hatebreed and Brand New Sin. Recently, 10`FOLD is currently putting new music to my lyrics written in Baghdad in 2004-5.
Song Description
The song "Sleeping Giant" is my American statement to every "militant jihad-jackass" Muslim on the planet that tries to commit an act of war upon American souls. We will go to great lengths, cross huge oceans, and chase them to every corner of the earth with our drones, satellites, GPS guided bombs & missiles. On December 7th, 1941, Japanese Admiral Yamamoto stated, "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant." This time, our enemies are so insane, I don't think they have ever read a history book. Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. This song is not meant to be politically correct, and if you are offended, then you are obviously not an American. My mission is to play this song for every allied soldier worldwide as a rally cry to keep us on track, and let them know why we are fighting today.
